An impressive 81% of affluent participants plan their day and stick to their schedules, compared to only 9% of those with lower incomes who document their daily plans.
Additionally, 44% of wealthy people wake up at least three hours before work to engage in exercise, self-education, and personal projects, whereas just 3% of less affluent individuals rise early.
Moreover, 67% of wealthy respondents habitually write down their goals, contrasted with only 17% among those earning less.
Prioritizing Health and Fitness
About 76% of wealthy individuals exercise at least four times a week and avoid junk food, understanding that regular physical activity not only maintains fitness but also enhances memory and cognitive performance.
In contrast, only 23% of people with lower incomes make time for regular exercise.
Commitment to Lifelong Learning
A striking 88% of the wealthy read for at least 30 minutes daily, while just 2% of lower-income individuals do the same. Instead, the latter group often spends over an hour daily watching television, with 75% dedicating significant time to screen entertainment.
Entrepreneur and journalist Michael Simmons studied millionaire habits and found that leaders like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, and Jack Ma dedicate at least an hour each weekday to reading and learning. Simmons coined this the "Five-Hour Rule," emphasizing that investing five hours weekly in education is a cornerstone of success.
However, this concept faces criticism. Wealthy individuals engaged in intellectual work may find it easier to allocate time for learning, and forced study can diminish curiosity, which thrives only with positive emotions. Bill Gates himself believes that true success comes from pursuing what brings joy.

Wealthy parents encourage their children to volunteer and read regularly. Among billionaires surveyed, 70% reported their children volunteer at least 10 hours weekly, and 63% said their kids read two or more popular science books monthly. In contrast, only 3% of children from lower-income families engage similarly.

According to Corley’s survey, 84% of wealthy individuals agree that habits are vital, whereas only 4% of those with limited income share this belief.
