Inside the Elite Bilingual School Favored by Celebrities on Rublyovka
Discover the innovative educational approach of a prestigious bilingual school nestled in the Moscow suburbs, attracting the children of famous personalities with its unique curriculum and modern facilities.
Opened just a few years ago, this educational institution has rapidly earned a reputation among affluent families.
Photos from the school's opening day, widely shared across social media, reveal that many well-known Moscow celebrities entrust their children’s education to this prestigious gymnasium named after a prominent political figure. But what makes this school so special?
The gymnasium, named after former Russian Prime Minister Yevgeny Primakov, welcomed students on September 1, 2017. It quickly became a preferred choice for show business stars and politicians residing in the upscale Rublyovka area, with its campus located in the village of Razdory near the Rublyovo-Uspenskoye highway.
This gymnasium is the first in Russia to offer a comprehensive bilingual curriculum, delivering instruction in both Russian and English from preparatory classes through senior grades. Native speakers from the UK, Australia, and Canada engage with students daily, fostering authentic language immersion. The project’s investor, the Odintsovo municipality, aims to blend the best traditions of Russian education with leading global practices.

Since its inception, the gymnasium has been regarded as one of the most advanced educational institutions in the region. Tuition fees reflect its elite status, starting at approximately $10,800 per academic year. A scholarship program is available for students in grades 2 through 10, awarded based on individual achievements.
Top 10 students in each grade can receive scholarships up to $1,350, while winners and prizewinners of academic competitions in grades 9 to 11 may qualify for full tuition coverage.
Interestingly, this gymnasium is not the most expensive school in Moscow; for comparison, the Lomonosov Private School charges nearly double the tuition. This difference likely stems from the gymnasium's relatively recent establishment, compared to the longer history of more costly institutions.

Admission to the gymnasium is competitive, with selection processes beginning as early as March. Entrance assessments vary depending on the educational stage the applicant seeks to enter. A specialized psychological evaluation serves as a key indicator of readiness and aptitude.
"All candidates, regardless of age or residence, must undergo entrance examinations conducted by the gymnasium, ensuring fair competition for preschool and school placements," states the institution’s official website.

The bilingual and immersive environment is a significant draw for star families, allowing children to develop early proficiency in foreign languages. Senior students benefit from integrated programs with MGIMO and Moscow State University, spending considerable time exploring university life and academic opportunities.
Among the gymnasium’s attendees are the children of celebrities such as Ksenia Borodina, Keti Topuria, Maria Kozhevnikova, Mikhail Galustyan, Garik Martirosyan, Anna Banshikova, and even the grandchildren of renowned folk singer Nadezhda Babkina.
Beyond academics, students participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities. The school offers chess classes, foreign language clubs, programming courses, and various sports sections including swimming, dance lessons led by instructors from the Todess dance school, and a theater studio. Consequently, students often spend over ten hours daily within the gymnasium’s vibrant environment.
The interior design of the gymnasium deserves special mention. An international team from Germany, the UK, and Russia collaborated to create a unique concept—the "school in the forest." Situated on a sprawling wooded plot, the architecture emphasizes harmony with nature.
The building’s extensive use of futuristic stained-glass facades highlights this connection between the natural surroundings and the educational space.
Covering a total area of 29,000 square meters, the gymnasium ranks among the largest schools in the Moscow region.
"My father was over 80 years old when he enthusiastically mastered computer skills! He never considered himself bound by bureaucratic ranks and valued lifelong friendships regardless of status," shares Nana Primakova, daughter of the school’s founder.
