At a recent launch event in China, Huawei unveiled the highly anticipated update to its Nova series, introducing three distinct models, each equipped with impressive cameras and attractive features.
Huawei Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G

The flagship Nova 6 models boast a 6.57-inch LCD display with a distinctive oval cutout in the corner housing dual front cameras: a 32MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. DxOMark awarded this front camera setup a remarkable score of 100, crowning it the best selfie smartphone tested to date—surpassing even the Galaxy Note10+ which scored 99.
The rear camera system features a versatile triple-lens array: a 40MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens with optical image stabilization. Powering these devices is Huawei’s flagship Kirin 990 processor, with the 5G variant enhanced by the Balong 5000 5G modem. Both models run on Android 10 with EMUI 10, excluding Google services.
The standard Nova 6 is equipped with a 4,100 mAh battery, while the 5G version offers a slightly larger 4,200 mAh capacity. Both support Huawei’s fast charging technology, SuperCharge, delivering 40W power for rapid recharge.

Pricing details are as follows:
- Nova 6 (8GB + 128GB) — approximately $460 USD;
- Nova 6 5G (8GB + 128GB) — approximately $545 USD;
- Nova 6 5G (8GB + 256GB) — approximately $600 USD.
Huawei Nova 6 SE

In addition to the flagship models, Huawei introduced the Nova 6 SE, a mid-range option featuring a 6.4-inch FHD+ LCD display with a front-facing 16MP camera housed in a punch-hole design. The fingerprint sensor is conveniently integrated into the side panel, consistent with the other models.

The quad-camera system includes a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and two 2MP modules dedicated to macro photography and depth sensing. Inside, the device is powered by the Kirin 810 processor and a 4,200 mAh battery supporting Huawei SuperCharge at 40W.
The Nova 6 SE is priced at approximately $315 USD for the 8GB + 128GB variant. Pre-orders for all three models are currently open in China, with availability starting December 12.
