Xiaomi Unveils CyberOne: A Humanoid Robot Revolutionizing Robotics

While CyberOne may not compose symphonies just yet, it certainly can bring you flowers.

Following its innovations in foldable smartphones, large tablets, and stylish accessories, Xiaomi has introduced its first humanoid robot, aptly named CyberOne. This advanced robot bears resemblance to the previously announced Tesla Bot, marking Xiaomi's bold step into the realm of robotics.

Standing at 177 cm tall and weighing 52 kg, CyberOne moves on two legs at a speed of 3.6 km/h. Equipped with an array of sensors and Xiaomi's proprietary Mi-Sense depth perception sensor, it constructs detailed 3D maps of its surroundings, enabling it to navigate obstacles and recognize nearby humans efficiently.

CyberOne can identify 85 different environmental sounds and interpret 45 human emotions. Its reactions are displayed through a curved OLED screen that serves as its expressive face.

The robot is also capable of brief conversational responses. Although currently basic, Xiaomi is committed to continuously enhancing its communication system for more natural interactions.

CyberOne's movements can be programmed through simple demonstrations, allowing it to learn by mimicking human actions.

During the launch event, CyberOne made a memorable appearance on stage holding a flower, showcasing its ability to carry small objects — a feature highlighted by Xiaomi's CEO, Lei Jun.

Xiaomi envisions future versions of CyberOne serving as household assistants, particularly benefiting individuals with limited mobility and the elderly. However, the current model remains relatively primitive compared to truly intelligent robots, as acknowledged by the company's leadership.

While this model is unlikely to be commercially available, it is expected to be accessible to select developers focused on advancing robotics technology.
