Why Bigger iPhones Could Change the Game: Insights from a Leading Business Visionary
Explore the compelling argument for larger iPhone screens and what industry leaders believe about the future of smartphone displays.
Donald Trump, a globally recognized entrepreneur and investor, is often regarded as one of the most influential business figures worldwide. His opinions carry significant weight, especially in the technology sector. Known for staying ahead of trends, Trump recently shared his perspective on the potential release of an iPhone with a larger display. Could this vision inspire Apple’s leadership, including CEO Tim Cook, to innovate further?

Discussions about larger iPhone screens have been ongoing for years, influenced by the success of Samsung’s Galaxy Note series, which bridged the gap between smartphones and tablets. Android and Windows Phone devices have long offered displays approaching five inches diagonally, appealing to users who appreciate the benefits of a bigger screen. Apple, however, only recently embraced this trend with the launch of the 4-inch iPhone 5.
Yet, Trump believes even this is insufficient. He expressed his thoughts on Twitter:
"I own many Apple shares and miss Steve Jobs. His successor, Tim Cook, must immediately increase the iPhone display size. It should be slightly larger than Samsung’s models, and Apple needs to hurry with this release. Otherwise, Apple risks a significant business setback. I personally prefer larger screens."
Trump likely referred to the Samsung Galaxy S4 rather than the massive 6.3-inch Galaxy Mega. Still, is a display of over five inches too large? Many users find the 3.5-inch screen of the iPhone 4 ergonomically optimal for one-handed use. While larger screens enhance movie watching, reading, and browsing, tablets are designed to excel in these areas more effectively than smartphones.
It seems some manufacturers may be losing sight of the core purpose of mobile phones, focusing instead on competing for the largest screen size. While 3.5 inches may feel small today, screens measuring 4.7 to 5 inches might be excessive for everyday use.
Do you agree with this perspective? Would you welcome an iPhone with a larger display? Is your current iPhone screen size sufficient? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
