Bottas, 36, secured 10 victories and 20 pole positions for Mercedes between 2017 and 2021, and served as a reserve driver this season after racing for Sauber in 2024. Perez, 35, has claimed six grands prix wins—five with Red Bull and one with Racing Point—and was released by Red Bull despite two years remaining on his contract.
"Their experience, leadership and technical acumen are what we need," said TWG Global CEO Dan Towriss, noting that while younger talent was considered, proven F1 expertise prevailed.
"This isn’t just a racing project; it’s a long-term vision," Bottas said. "Being part of a new team from the ground up and helping shape it for F1 is incredibly special."
Perez added: "From our first conversations, I sensed real passion and determination. I’m honoured to bring Cadillac to the world stage of Formula 1."
Cadillac aims to feature an American driver in future seasons but prioritized F1 experience for its maiden campaign. Team principal Graeme Lowdon expects initial challenges, predicting the team may start at the back of the grid.
Cadillac’s choice of two seasoned race-winners underscores its commitment to building a competitive team when it enters F1 in 2026.
