Hamilton not looking forward to 2026 F1 season after tough Las Vegas Grand Prix

Lewis Hamilton says he is not looking forward to the 2026 Formula 1 season after another tough weekend at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.

The seven-time world champion qualified last for the race, the first time that would happen on pace in his 19-year F1 career.

He fought his way into a points-scoring position but could not pass Nico Hulkenberg's Sauber on the medium tyres in the final laps, finishing 10th.

Hamilton said the result was terrible and there was nothing positive to take from the day on INLIBER Radio 5 Live.

He added that he was eager for the weekend to end and not looking forward to the next race.

When asked if that referred to the next race in Qatar, he signaled that it referred to the next season.

Hamilton remains sixth in the drivers' standings, 73 points behind Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc. He has yet to stand on the podium for Ferrari this year, though he won the sprint in China in March. If he fails to finish among the top three in the final two races of 2025, it would be his first podium-less season in F1.

He entered the Las Vegas weekend on the back foot after uncompetitive qualifying in wet conditions on Friday, struggling on the extreme wet tyre.

Describing his first year with Ferrari as a nightmare, Hamilton told Sky Sports that he felt terrible and that the season had been the worst yet and kept getting worse no matter what he did.

This has been the toughest season of my F1 career, and I am not looking forward to the next race or season.
