List of Medical Conditions That Exempt You from Military Service – Who Is Not Subject to Mobilization

This article outlines various medical conditions that can grant full exemption from military service due to health reasons, ensuring individuals understand their eligibility and rights.

Certain medical conditions allow conscripts to receive a full exemption from military service based on health status.

According to the law "On Military Duty and Military Service," conscripts can be granted deferment or complete exemption from mobilization depending on their health category. An expert from a human rights organization provided the following details.

"Before a person is drafted, they must undergo a medical examination, after which a commission determines their fitness. The list of diseases is approved by the Military Medical Examination Regulation, sanctioned by government decree No. 565. Based on illnesses or health deviations, fitness categories are assigned:

  • Category 'A' indicates full fitness for military service without restrictions on branch of service;

  • Category 'B' means fit for military service with minor limitations;

  • Category 'C' exempts from conscription during peacetime and places the individual in reserve;

  • Category 'D' grants temporary deferment due to health reasons;

  • Category 'E' means the conscript is not accepted into the army.

Certain diseases, such as oncological conditions and various severe injuries, make conscription impossible.
