Chrome Introduces Tool to Help Adapt Websites for People with Visual Impairments
Google is testing a new Chrome feature that enables developers to simulate how websites appear to individuals with color blindness, nearsightedness, or tritanopia.
Similar accessibility features have previously been introduced by the Firefox browser.
Google has begun testing a new tool in Chrome that allows developers to simulate various vision impairments, such as color blindness and tritanopia (difficulty distinguishing blue and yellow hues), to better understand how their websites are perceived by users with these conditions.

This functionality can be accessed through a dedicated section in the developer tools called “Emulate Vision Deficiencies.” Using a dropdown menu, developers can select different types of vision impairments and see how challenging it might be for users with color perception differences to read the website.
According to Color Blind Awareness, color blindness affects approximately 300 million people worldwide, accounting for about 8% of men and 0.5% of women.
This feature is available in Chrome version 82, which is currently in early beta. Firefox had introduced similar tools earlier.
