Yandex’s Alice Now Reads Web Pages Aloud on Android and Windows
Discover how Yandex’s voice assistant Alice brings web page reading aloud to Android and Windows devices, enhancing multitasking and accessibility.
Articles can now be enjoyed like podcasts, allowing you to continue with your tasks effortlessly.
Following Google's lead, Yandex has introduced a web page reading feature powered by its voice assistant, Alice, integrated into the Yandex Browser for Android and Windows. To activate voice reading on a PC, simply say, “Listen, Alice, read this page.”

On smartphones, a headphone icon appears on websites where Yandex Browser supports reading mode. Tapping this button starts the narration. You can also highlight specific paragraphs or sections on any page and select “Read Aloud” from the context menu to hear just that part.
Alice reads entire pages with extensive connected text while ignoring buttons, banners, menus, and other unrelated elements. This feature is ideal for catching up on articles you’ve been postponing. You can play the narration in the background while continuing your activities, pause whenever needed, and resume from where you left off.
The article reading function is available to all users on Android devices and Windows computers. Currently, it supports only the Russian language.
