Track Every AliExpress Package Easily: New Shipping Update
Starting August 10, AliExpress will provide tracking numbers for all shipments, reducing lost packages and enhancing delivery transparency worldwide.
From August 10 onward, every product shipped via AliExpress will come with a tracking number, enabling customers to monitor their orders in real time. This initiative aims to significantly decrease the number of lost packages globally.
Since February 7, 2017, AliExpress required sellers to assign tracking numbers for shipments valued over $2. Now, the platform is expanding this policy to include all shipments regardless of price, ensuring comprehensive tracking for every order.
Alex Vasilyev, Head of Development at Cainiao, Alibaba Group's logistics platform, shared with industry media that packages without tracking numbers are more prone to getting lost:
"Previously, customers often faced weeks without any updates on their shipments. Moreover, the loss rate among untracked packages was considerably higher," said Vasilyev.
Assigning a tracking number is a paid service. While buyers used to decide whether to opt for tracking, this feature will now be mandatory for all shipments. This change may lead to a slight price increase for items under $2, but it greatly improves the chances of successful delivery and order transparency.
