Griekspoor, who overturned two break points to take the second set and secured his win when Sinner limped in the decider, will now face qualifier Valentin Vacherot, after 20th seed Tomas Machac also retired injured. "Not the way you want to win," Griekspoor said. "I wish him a speedy recovery."
Earlier, fourth seed Taylor Fritz fell 6-4 7-5 to France's Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard.

World number five Djokovic overcame a sluggish start to beat qualifier Yannick Hanfmann 4-6 7-5 6-3 in humid conditions. The 38-year-old Serb praised the crowd for lifting him and secured the win after two hours and 42 minutes.
"I had to weather the storm," Djokovic said. "I showed a lot of guts when I wasn’t the better player at times." He will face unseeded Spaniard Jaume Munar in the fourth round.
