This rule applies only to the infinitive. When conjugated in the future tense, the letter y disappears: pridu, pridem, pridesh, pridete, pridet, pridut. Forms like priydu, priydem, and pridet are incorrect, even though the y remains in other verbs such as voydu and uydesh.
