Mastercard and 8 Russian Banks Introduce NFC Key Fobs for Contactless Payments

ISBC, a leading manufacturer of contactless payment devices, in collaboration with Mastercard and tokenization service provider Fidesmo, has launched the ISBC Pay NFC key fob in Russia, designed for effortless contactless payments.
This innovative key fob can be linked to any Mastercard issued by one of the eight participating banks, including Gazprombank, Post Bank, MKB, Rosselkhozbank, Otkritie Bank, Alfa-Bank, TatSotsBank, and Promsvyazbank (PSB).
Using ISBC Pay is as simple as tapping a regular plastic card on a payment terminal. The key fob contains no personal data, ensuring privacy and security. Additionally, users can customize the key fob with any image for personalization.
Durability is a key feature of this device — it withstands bending, compression, extreme temperatures, and moisture exposure. When needed, the card linked to the key fob can be easily replaced.
“You might forget your bank card at home or your phone battery might die — in such cases, the payment-enabled key fob comes in handy. Multiple key fobs can be issued, for example, to children; if lost, it’s not a problem since the key fob holds no payment details and can be blocked independently without affecting the main card,” said Nikita Kozhemyakin, Managing Director of ISBC, in an interview with RBC.
The key fob is priced at approximately $20 USD (1,490 Russian Rubles). Looking ahead, ISBC plans to expand compatibility, allowing users to link cards to watch straps and other everyday items, Kozhemyakin added.
