I’ve shared my appreciation for Apple Music in a previous article. Since its launch, I’ve used it daily and found it superior to many other services I’ve tried, including Google Music, Spotify, Deezer, and even VKontakte.
However, I understand that some users either don’t need Apple Music or prefer the older, more straightforward interface without any Apple Music features. Fortunately, disabling it is quite simple.
Step One – Disable Apple Music
Follow these steps to turn off Apple Music:
- Open Settings and go to Music.
- Toggle off the Show Apple Music option.
Interestingly, if you have already downloaded music from the service, those tracks will remain on your device. This allows you to keep your favorite songs while simplifying the app’s interface by disabling Apple Music.
Step Two – Disable Connect
Connect is a social feature that connects fans with artists. If you don’t use Apple Music, you likely don’t need Connect either. Here’s how to disable it:
- Go to Settings > General > Restrictions.
- Enable Restrictions by toggling it on.
- Scroll down and turn off Apple Connect.
After completing these steps, your Music app will display only three tabs: My Music, Playlists, and Radio, giving you a clean and classic music experience.
