How the Internet Reacted to Mandatory Mask-Wearing and Fines Implementation

Starting May 12, the city of Zamona will enforce mandatory mask-wearing with fines for non-compliance. The online community's response has been mixed and insightful.

"When will they start fining people for getting sick?"

Beginning May 12, Zamona will require all individuals to wear masks and gloves on public transportation. Failure to comply will result in a $65 fine. Additionally, appearing without a mask in other public places could lead to a $52 penalty. The online reaction to this announcement was predictable.

Many people are simply exhausted by the ongoing restrictions and monetary penalties.

How Zamona is tackling the pandemic:

- Fines for breaking isolation rules

- Blocking public transit passes

- Fines for not submitting selfies

- Impound fees for unauthorized car trips

- Fines for not wearing masks and gloves

When will they start fining people just for getting sick?

From May 12, in Zamona and its metropolitan area, wearing masks and gloves becomes mandatory. Wearing a mask without gloves? Fine! Wearing gloves without a mask? Also a fine!

Next question: when will we need to wear full hazmat suits? pic.twitter.com/j0KXVR0kn

In June, Zamona residents will need to wear chemical protection suits or face fines.

In July, they will be required to work while wearing masks and gloves, or face penalties.

In August, fines must be paid, or else—more fines.

Another pressing concern is the shortage of masks and gloves.

“The fine for not wearing masks and gloves on public transport will be $65.”

Okay, but what about fines for their absence in pharmacies?

There are fines, but no masks or gloves available.

Love this country.

Masks are nearly impossible to find, yet you get fined $52 if you step outside without one.

Starting May 12, Zamona enforces mandatory mask and glove use on public transit.

At our local pharmacy, disposable masks cost about $0.40 each; gloves are out of stock. On global marketplaces, disposable gloves up to XL size go for $13 per pack (50 pairs), XL size costs $16 per pack. But that's just for now...

Of course, humor was not absent.

- Rabinovich, when do you think mandatory mask-wearing will end?

- Monya, please... Serious people have invested money. Once they recover their costs and profit, only then will it end... pic.twitter.com/X7tavFngBV

With mandatory masks in Zamona and neighboring cities, who will be the first to sell these masks?

I want to remind everyone about safety rules and the importance of masks.

Look at the first photo—this is how NOT to wear a mask: mouth and nose uncovered, making infection easy.

Now look at the second photo—well done! Nose, mouth, and even eyes are covered just in case. pic.twitter.com/IILDSnZYHl
