Selecting a Subscription Plan

Next, choose your subscription type. You can opt for a free standard account or the “Full Access” plan, which offers a 30-day free trial followed by a monthly subscription.

Subscription Options
Available subscription plans

The free plan allows you to upload up to 20,000 tracks from your personal music collection to the cloud, purchase music via Google Play, and synchronize everything with your Android device.

The paid plan includes all free features plus access to the entire Google Play Music library with over 18 million tracks, customizable radio stations with track skipping, and curated playlists by music experts. You can enjoy this for free during the 30-day trial, after which the subscription costs approximately $2.50 per month (discounted to around $2.25 if subscribed before November 15).

We recommend starting with the free plan to explore the service's capabilities without any financial commitment. You can always upgrade later.

Setting Up Google Wallet

After selecting the standard account, Google will prompt you to set up Google Wallet.

Linking your Google Wallet

Don’t worry about the name “Google Wallet”—it simply requires entering your address and contact details and linking a credit or debit card. You can manage your wallet anytime at https://wallet.google.com/.

Important: During registration, a temporary charge of approximately $0.40 will be made to your card and refunded shortly after. This is a standard verification process, so there’s no cause for concern.

Uploading Your Music

With your account set up, it’s time to upload your music to the cloud. Google offers a lightweight desktop application called “Upload Manager” that scans your existing music libraries from iTunes, Windows Media Player, or local folders and uploads them to your Google Play Music cloud.

During upload, Google Play Music checks its own library. If a track already exists on Google’s servers, it instantly becomes available in your collection with album art, saving upload time and storage.

Start by signing in with your Google account.

Features like AutoMix create themed playlists based on a selected track, while the “I’m Feeling Lucky” option generates a random playlist for spontaneous listening.

The “Store” section links directly to the music marketplace for purchases.

One standout feature is the “From Friends” tab, enabling social sharing of music collections. Recipients can listen to shared paid tracks once for free—an innovative way to discover new music.
