The harrowing events that unfolded in Moscow on March 22 shook the entire nation. On a Friday evening, armed assailants carried out a terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall, where attendees had gathered for a concert by the band "Piknik." The attackers attempted to flee Russia but were apprehended in the Bryansk region. In total, 12 suspects connected to the mass murder case at Crocus City Hall have been detained. All remain in custody until June 27, when their verdicts will be delivered.

Forty days have passed since the attack. On the morning of April 30, people began gathering near Crocus City Hall, bringing flowers, stuffed animals, and candles to the site of the tragedy. As in the days following the attack, an impromptu memorial has formed here. Near the auditorium, candles were arranged on the pavement to display two numbers: the death toll and the date of the attack. A memorial service for the victims was conducted by Archbishop Foma (Mosolov) of Odintsovo and Krasnogorsk, with the blessing of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Rus'.

Prominent figures also marked the somber anniversary. Emin Agalarov, son of the Crocus City Hall owner, was among the first to express condolences to the victims and their families. Through his social media channels, he extended heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped save lives during that horrific evening, as well as to the professionals who continue to support the survivors today.

Another heartfelt message came from Nastya Ivleeva, whose Telegram channel avatar still features a white crane on a black background—a symbol of remembrance. On March 24, a "Flying Cranes" event took place near Crocus City Hall to honor those who lost their lives.

Ivleeva wrote, "What happened will always be remembered with shock, horror, and a quiet pain inside that cannot be undone. Life inevitably moves forward rapidly and without looking back, but the most important thing every person must do is remember. Forty days is a significant milestone for the soul. Today, let us remember the fallen, pray for the repose of their souls, help those in need around us if possible, and do so in memory of those who have departed. May they rest in peace, and may their families find strength to endure the tragedy and continue living."

Following the tragedy, major donations were made to charity by Olga Buzova, Instasamka, Natalia Podolskaya, Egor Kreed, and other celebrities.
