Palace turned down a £65m offer from Newcastle United in January, hopeful Guehi would agree fresh terms at Selhurst Park. The England international has now entered the final year of his contract and remains unsigned beyond 2026.
"We'd have to do that, of course," Parish said, explaining the club's reluctance to let players of Guehi's calibre depart without compensation. "Losing Joachim Andersen last summer compounded the issue. Without a new deal, we need a resolution this summer."
Interest builds amid financial constraints
Liverpool are monitoring Guehi but may hesitate over a large transfer fee for a player they could sign on a free in two years. Palace value him at around £40m, while Liverpool have been reluctant to meet that figure after significant summer spending.
Despite recouping approximately £170m from player sales, Parish acknowledges the club's limited budget. "We have 15 or 16 outstanding players; enhancing that quality is challenging. The resources at every club are finite."
Glasner demands more activity
Palace lifted the Community Shield against Liverpool under manager Oliver Glasner, but have added only goalkeeper Walter Benitez and defender Borna Sosa so far this window. Glasner has publicly urged greater reinforcements to compete at the highest level.
