This incident has drawn significant public attention. In early October, an airport cleaner in Antalya discovered a newborn baby abandoned in the disabled restroom. Security services quickly got involved and identified the mother among passengers preparing to fly back to Russia.
Surveillance footage revealed that Ekaterina had entered the restroom around the time the baby was born. She delivered the child and hurried back to the check-in counter to avoid missing her flight, accompanied by her mother.
The baby was handed over to medical professionals, and the tourists were detained. The father of the child was unaware of Ekaterina's pregnancy. According to her mother, Ekaterina’s naturally curvy figure had concealed the pregnancy from the family.

According to Turkish lawyer Ayshegul Polat, the young mother has already chosen a name for her daughter, saying, "I will name her Nicole." She hopes to reunite with her daughter soon and return home together.
The Telegram channel Shot, citing the lawyer, reports that Ekaterina is determined not to be separated from her child. She plans to inform the father of the baby's birth, and if he refuses to participate, she will take full responsibility.
For now, Ekaterina remains in detention until at least December, while the baby is expected to be taken to Russia by then. The Russian consulate has processed all necessary documents, and they are awaiting medical clearance for the infant's flight.
