The 25-year-old missed the recent 3-2 defeat to Everton with a minor Achilles complaint, but executive chairman Jeff Shi insists the club never intended to sell him. “We never considered letting him go,” Shi said. “He is committed, honest and generous. After recovering, I’m sure he will score many more goals. I hope he reaches 20 this season and develops into a top striker in the league and beyond.”
