Wolves sign versatile defender Jackson Tchatchoua from Hellas Verona for £10.8m
Wolverhampton Wanderers have secured Cameroon international Jackson Tchatchoua on a five-year deal from Hellas Verona for €12.5m – the full-back was Serie A’s fastest player last season.
Wolves have completed the signing of Cameroon defender Jackson Tchatchoua from Serie A side Hellas Verona for a fee of €12.5m (£10.8m) on a five-year contract.
The 23-year-old, who can operate as a right-back or wing-back, was recorded as the fastest player in Serie A last season with an average top speed of 34.88 km/h and a peak of 36.3 km/h.
For comparison, Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven was the Premier League’s fastest player in 2024-25, reaching 37.1 km/h, with the Dutchman holding the league record of 37.38 km/h.
Tchatchoua began his career at Belgian side Charleroi before joining Hellas Verona on loan, making the move permanent in 2024. In 37 appearances last season, he scored twice and provided three assists.
He becomes Wolves’ fifth signing of the summer, following the permanent acquisition of forward Jorgen Strand Larsen for £23m, forward Fer Lopez for £19m, winger Jhon Arias for £15m and defender David Møller Wolfe for £10m.
