The move aims to satisfy national security requirements and secure the platform’s future in the United States.
The agreement, reportedly approved by the White House, would see President Trump sign an executive order to pause enforcement of a potential ban for 120 days, allowing time to finalize the sale of TikTok’s US operations by its Chinese parent company, ByteDance.
White House officials say the partnership will build a fully separate recommendation engine for American users, inspect and rebuild the app’s source code, and employ “patriotic investors” and cybersecurity experts on its board. The venture is expected to be valued at several billion dollars.
Oracle, which already stores US user data, has seen a surge in demand for its cloud services from AI companies, boosting its market value. Private equity firm Silver Lake is also reported to be part of the consortium backing the deal.
