During a joint presentation by Microsoft and Bethesda, GSC Game World revealed the official release date for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, subtitled Heart of Chernobyl. The game is set to launch on April 28, 2022, for Xbox Series X|S and PC. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
Alongside this announcement, GSC Game World shared a detailed gameplay showcase of the shooter, highlighting various in-game locations. Some of these areas will be familiar to fans from the previous title, "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky."
Preorders are now open on Steam, offering three editions:
- Standard Edition — $33 USD.
- Deluxe Edition — $42 USD.
- Ultimate Edition — $59 USD.
The developers confirmed there will be no digital store exclusives, meaning the game will also be available for purchase on the Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store.
