Shooting suspect arrested in Charlie Kirk case, Trump says 'We have him'
Authorities have arrested a 22-year-old Utah resident in connection with the shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University.
US President Donald Trump announced the arrest of a suspect in the shooting of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. “With a high degree of certainty, we have him,” Trump told Fox & Friends on Friday.
A law enforcement source identified the 22-year-old suspect as Tyler Robinson, a southern Utah resident. Investigators said someone close to Robinson recognized him from FBI images released after the Wednesday shooting, which left Kirk with a neck wound.
The FBI had appealed to the public, sharing grainy photos of a “person of interest” wearing sunglasses, Converse shoes, and a distinctive black long-sleeve shirt emblazoned with an American flag and eagle. Authorities later recovered a high-powered Mauser .30-06 rifle wrapped in a towel in a nearby wooded area.

Authorities say a tip from someone close to the suspect led to the swift arrest, highlighting the impact of public cooperation in high-profile investigations.
