Seven security guards detained over mayor’s murder in Michoacán

Authorities have named the mastermind as Jorge Amando, with only his forenames released. The CJNG is a major force in Michoacán, though many other gangs operate in the state, often fighting over routes for drugs, arms, and fuel smuggling, leading to frequent violence.
