However, hours before the festive event, Visit Altrincham posted on Facebook that Cunha would not attend "for medical reasons" after "an accident in training."
United have not confirmed any further details or whether the incident might affect Cunha's availability for Monday's match.
INLIBER Sport has approached United for comment. It is understood the appearance was not arranged through the club.
Cunha, who signed for £62.5m from Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer, has been a key figure in United's recent upturn, with Ruben Amorim's side unbeaten in five games this season. He scored his first United goal in a 4-2 win over Brighton in October and featured in Brazil's recent friendlies.
On Friday, head coach Amorim confirmed striker Benjamin Sesko will be sidelined until mid-next month with a knee injury.
If Cunha cannot play on Monday, manager Amorim would need to reshuffle his attack. Mason Mount would be in contention, while Kobbie Mainoo and Joshua Zirkzee could be called upon for the first time this season in the Premier League line-up. There is also talk of a potential England Under-20 debut for Shea Lacey, who has impressed for United's Premier League 2 side this season.
