Luke Poulter, the 21-year-old son of Ian Poulter, has been selected for the Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup team.

The squad will compete in the 50th Walker Cup at Cypress Point, California, on 6-7 September. Poulter joins a 10-man roster captained by former European Tour winner Dean Robertson.

Poulter earned 3.5 points out of four matches in GB&I’s win at the St Andrews Trophy and narrowly missed US Open qualification after a sudden-death playoff defeat.

GB&I, seeking their first Walker Cup victory since 2015, will face the United States in the biennial amateur match.
