Josh Brownhill completes move to Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab

Former Burnley captain Josh Brownhill has signed for Saudi Pro League side Al-Shabab.

Brentford, Wolves, West Ham and Leicester were among the suitors for the 29-year-old, who netted 18 goals last season to help Burnley return to the Premier League.

After five years and 211 appearances at Turf Moor, scoring 32 goals overall, Brownhill opted to leave at the end of the campaign.

He joins the likes of Belgium international Yannick Carrasco and former Southampton defender Wesley Hoedt at Al-Shabab, managed by ex-Real Sociedad boss Imanol Alguacil.

Al-Shabab began their Saudi Pro League season with a 4-1 defeat to Al-Khaleej.

"I feel honored to join Al-Shabab," Brownhill said. "The manager’s style, formation and vision were key factors in my decision. I'm aiming to score goals and help the club challenge for trophies this season."
