In June, the surgery booked over 9,000 appointments, more than half scheduled on the same day. Under the 10 Year Health Plan, technology rollouts could free up capacity equivalent to over 2,000 full-time GPs.

Andy Carpenter, digital director at Mendip Vale, said AI tools help meet rising patient demand by freeing up clinicians for face-to-face care, with robust safety measures protecting data.
