Commission Gives Thumbs Up
The Commonwealth Sport Coordination Commission (CoCom) spent two days reviewing the schedule, budget and scope. Chair Chris Chan expressed confidence that the event will meet its goals and still awe athletes and fans.
"We’ve had candid discussions and left with a strong sense of confidence that this Games will be lean and mean, short and sweet," Chan said. "There’s still a wow factor akin to 2014, and I’m convinced the organising committee has everything on track."
Anticipation Builds
More than 3,000 athletes from 74 nations will compete for over 200 medals across 50 sessions. Organisers report tens of thousands of people have already signed up for updates, with tickets on sale in October.
Commonwealth Sport President Dr Donald Rukare added, "Scotland has shown bravery and innovation in taking on the Games. The facilities and the people here will ensure an exceptional experience for everyone involved."
Despite a leaner 10-sport programme, organisers assure the 2026 Games will deliver excitement and world-class competition.
