Discover the Charging Speed of the Latest iPhone Pro Models: How They Stack Up Against Top Competitors

Explore the charging performance of the newest iPhone Pro devices with their upgraded power adapter. See how they compare to leading Android smartphones in speed and efficiency.

Apple has made significant strides in charging technology, but there's still room to catch up to Android flagships.

For years, Apple was unique in shipping its premium smartphones without a fast charging power adapter. This changed with the launch of the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max, which introduced an 18W power adapter, a big upgrade from the standard 5W charger included with the iPhone 11.

Journalists at PhoneArena tested how much faster the new adapter charges these smartphones from 0% to 100%. Here are the detailed results:

iPhone 11 Pro (3,190 mAh)

  • 15 minutes: 28%
  • 30 minutes: 55%
  • 45 minutes: 74%
  • 1 hour: 85%
  • 1 hour 15 minutes: 94%
  • 1 hour 30 minutes: 98%
  • 1 hour 42 minutes: 100%

iPhone 11 Pro Max (3,969 mAh)

  • 15 minutes: 24%
  • 30 minutes: 47%
  • 45 minutes: 70%
  • 1 hour: 82%
  • 1 hour 15 minutes: 90%
  • 1 hour 30 minutes: 95%
  • 1 hour 45 minutes: 98%
  • 1 hour 57 minutes: 100%

Similar to many Android devices, the charging speed of the iPhone 11 Pro series slows down as the battery approaches full capacity. They reach 55% and 47% charge within half an hour respectively, but a full charge takes over 90 minutes.

Compared to last year’s models, this is a noticeable improvement, yet the iPhone 11 Pro phones still lag behind flagship Android phones in charging speed. For example, the Huawei P30 Pro with its included charger reaches full charge in just 59 minutes, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ takes about 65 minutes.

While the iPhone 11 Pro Max isn’t the fastest charger available, it remains one of the most battery-efficient flagship smartphones of its time. Recent comparisons involving the Galaxy Note10+ and Huawei Mate 30 Pro confirm its impressive battery life and overall endurance.
