Discover 5 Proven Time Management Techniques to Boost Your Productivity
Explore five effective and lesser-known time management strategies that can transform your daily productivity and help you achieve your goals with greater ease.
In this article, we delve into five highly effective yet less commonly known time management techniques designed to significantly enhance your productivity.
Time management is the art of organizing your time to achieve goals and increase efficiency. While many methods exist, which ones truly deliver results? Together with Elena Fedoseeva, founder of the Remarklee brand, we explore five of the most impactful planning strategies.
Ikigai
This Japanese concept encourages finding joy and fulfillment in every day and task. It’s believed that anyone can learn this art.
Ikigai lies at the intersection of four key elements:
What you love doing. Activities that bring the most positive emotions, ones you look forward to and want to do more of—for example, painting, horseback riding, or even resting.
What you are skilled at. This includes talents, skills, and unique personality traits you excel in—such as brewing excellent coffee or having a high level of empathy.
What the world needs. This reflects the demands of your community or the global society—like access to clean water worldwide.
What can generate income. The market’s demand indicates the potential for earning well.

By identifying your Ikigai, you can focus your time and energy on what truly matters.
Interstitial Journaling
This technique involves taking notes not during traditional times like morning or evening but during intervals between tasks. It’s crucial to record your thoughts, feelings, and ideas as you work. Each note should include the time, a brief mention of the completed task, and 1-2 sentences about your mood.
For example:
10:55 AM – Drafting an article outline for the magazine. Going well, might take a break soon. After that, plan to call Anna to review our collaboration on the book.
This reflection helps enhance emotional awareness, improves concentration, and prevents prematurely starting new tasks.

Minimalist Task Method or The Rule of Three
This approach simplifies your to-do list. Every evening, select just three key tasks for the next day that you must complete no matter what. Ask yourself: "Which three tasks must I finish tomorrow for the day to be successful?" This helps avoid overwhelm, boosts focus on priorities, increases productivity, and reduces stress.

Kanban
Kanban is a simple yet powerful task management system that organizes work and visualizes progress. Originally developed by Toyota for production management, it has recently gained popularity among professionals and teams across various fields. Kanban ensures more efficient use of time and resources.

How does it work?
Create a task list and visualize it on a board divided into columns representing stages, such as "Backlog," "To Do," "In Progress," "Under Review," and "Done."
Add context to each task, prioritize them, set deadlines, and assign responsible persons.
Establish rules for working within the system, for example, limiting the number of tasks in progress at once.
Monitor the process and keep the board updated.
Peak Time Technique
This method focuses on identifying your most productive hours. Track when you feel most energetic and focused, then optimize your schedule to make the most of these periods. This strategy helps achieve better results while spending less time on tasks.
