WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that enables users to share photos and videos in higher quality on their smartphones, currently in testing and soon to be widely available.

In the latest beta release of WhatsApp for Android (version 2.21.14.16), users will gain the option to send media files in "best quality." This new setting bypasses the usual automatic compression that reduces file size, ensuring your photos and videos retain their original clarity.

Users will have three quality options to choose from when sending photos and videos: "Auto," "Data Saver," and "Best Quality." The "Auto" setting maintains the current default compression, "Data Saver" compresses media to minimize data usage, and "Best Quality" preserves the original media quality. These preferences can be customized separately for photos and videos within the app's "Storage and Data" settings.

Currently under development, this feature will first be accessible to beta testers before being released to the general WhatsApp user base in upcoming stable updates.
