Everton supporter discovers non-existent season ticket seat at new Hill Dickinson stadium

After 30 years as a season-ticket holder, Cathy Clarke found a metal railing where her seat should have been at Everton's new stadium, prompting the club to investigate.

After three decades as a season-ticket holder, Liverpool native Cathy Clarke discovered a metal railing where her seat should have been at Everton's new Hill Dickinson stadium.

Arriving for the Blues' opening home match, Clarke expected to join her husband, son and nephew - season-ticket holders at her side for the first time since leaving Goodison Park - but instead found no seat assigned to her spot.

Efforts to resolve

Clarke, who chose seats at the end of a row due to a knee injury, said she scanned her digital ticket without issue but could not locate her row. A steward suggested the seat might have been obstructed by stair design, but Clarke insists the club oversold tickets for a non-existent space.

After standing on concrete steps for 30 minutes, she was relocated to an empty seat elsewhere, missing Everton's first goal and the team's entrance - moments she says "you don't get back."

Club response

Everton FC has confirmed it is liaising with Clarke to find a solution, though details remain uncertain. Clarke says she spent £3,000 on the family's season tickets and is awaiting clarification on seating arrangements for the remainder of the season.
