Apple Renews 'Foundation' Series for a Second Season

Even before the first season reaches its midpoint—with only four out of ten episodes currently available—Apple has confirmed the renewal of the "Foundation" series for a second season. Showrunner David Goyer revealed that the upcoming season will explore even more of Asimov's incredible worlds and vibrant characters, including Hober Mallow, General Bel Riose, and the entire "Outer Suns".
Robin Asimov, Isaac Asimov's daughter and an executive producer on the project, praised the exceptional work done by Goyer and Skydance Studios, stating that the adaptation has exceeded all expectations.
Set within the Galactic Empire—a vast superstate spanning the entire Milky Way—the story follows renowned mathematician Hari Seldon. Using his groundbreaking science of psychohistory, Seldon predicts the inevitable collapse of civilization. To preserve humanity and enable its rebirth, he establishes the Foundation organization. However, the Empire's leadership, distrustful of this controversial doctrine, obstructs their mission.
So far, only four episodes of "Foundation" have been released, with a total of ten episodes planned for the first season. The fifth episode is scheduled to premiere on October 15.
