Core income, which excludes investment fluctuations and discontinued operations, hit a record $2.1 billion for the quarter. CEO Alan Schnitzer attributed this success to strong earned premium growth and outstanding profitability.
Net written premiums increased by 7% year-over-year in the fourth quarter across business insurance, bond & specialty insurance, and personal insurance segments. The combined ratio rose to 83.2%, indicating solid operational performance.
