Tragic Fire at Escape Room: Heroic Rescue Attempts Amid Deadly Blaze
An intense fire broke out during a horror-themed escape room experience, leading to tragic loss and severe injuries. This article explores the harrowing details and ongoing investigations.
No participants managed to escape the sudden fire that erupted inside the room. Tragically, one young woman succumbed almost immediately due to carbon monoxide inhalation.
On July 22, a heartbreaking incident captured widespread attention in Makhachkala. A group of friends attended a horror-themed escape room experience that quickly turned into a nightmare.
The room hosted three participants: 19-year-old Asiyat, her husband Said, 20, and 25-year-old Madina. Sadly, both women lost their lives, while Said remains in critical condition with burns covering half of his body.
In addition to the participants, an actor portrayed the role of a 'Texas maniac'. According to the scenario, the actor secured the participants to chairs inside special cages. Soon after, smoke began filling the room, marking the scripted climax of the experience.
However, as reported by the Telegram channel Shot, the actor escalated the danger by dousing one of the women with kerosene and igniting a lighter. This stunt spiraled out of control, causing 25-year-old Madina to catch fire.

Initial reports suggest the actor fled the scene after the fire erupted, leaving the participants trapped in the 'House of Horror'. Relatives of the victims shared that Asiyat’s friend and her husband rushed to extinguish the flames. Said removed his shirt in an attempt to smother the fire, but the blaze was too intense. Notably, no fire extinguisher was found in the room.
In the ensuing panic, the group struggled to find an exit from the maze-like room. Attempts to break a window were hindered by security bars that could not be removed.
Passersby responded to cries for help but were unable to intervene as the escape room was locked. Emergency responders arrived promptly, using power tools to force entry. By then, Asiyat had already passed away. Madina died on the morning of July 22 due to burns covering 97% of her body. Said remains hospitalized in intensive care.

Eyewitnesses reported that the 'Texas maniac' pretended to run outside for help but was not seen again. It is currently under investigation whether another actor, who was supposed to play the clown character Pennywise, was present during the fire.

The entertainment center is undergoing a comprehensive safety audit. Online reviews have surfaced indicating that minors were allowed to participate, with reports that they too were restrained and covered with sacks.
Authorities have detained co-owner and comedian Huseyn Ibragimov, a member of the Dagestan KVN team, who is currently being questioned. Sources reveal that the 'House of Horror' featured only one scenario, where guests were handcuffed each time.
