Inside the Creative Workspace of a Mac User: Designer and DJ
Explore the inspiring and efficient workspace setup of a graphic designer and DJ, showcasing essential tools that blend creativity and technology seamlessly.
Our newly launched series, which highlights the workspaces of both ordinary and extraordinary users, has received enthusiastic feedback from readers. Just last evening, we received another inspiring submission. Meet Eugene, and discover his unique workspace story.

My name is Eugene, I live in western Germany, and I work as a graphic designer. I have a passion for high-quality sound and occasionally perform as a DJ in intimate club settings.
Given my professions, my desk setup is quite straightforward yet thoughtfully curated.
As noted in previous features, a computer workspace is sacred, and a sacred place is never empty. My desk is compactly filled with my favorite gear. While this brings joy, it also prompts reflection, as I appreciate minimalism in its purest form.
So, here’s what my setup includes:
- MacBook Pro 13" (2010 model)
- 22" EIZO monitor
- Apple keyboard
- Logitech Anywhere Mouse MX
- Wacom Intuos 5 Medium tablet
- Native Instruments Traktor Audio 6 external sound card
- Pioneer HDJ 2000 headphones
- Notepads, pens, and pencils
Previously, an A3 sketchbook occupied the space beneath my keyboard, but it has recently been replaced by the new Wacom Intuos tablet, which now rests on the shelf. Nowadays, I create all sketches digitally.
You might wonder why I still use a Logitech mouse instead of the Magic Mouse. Honestly, I kept postponing the purchase. Now that I have the tablet, my need for a mouse is even less urgent.
Next, my pride and joy: the sound card and headphones. Delivering clean, high-quality stereo sound, they outperform all creative audio setups, Dolby Digital surround systems, subwoofers, and other beasts combined.
In the future, I plan to reduce cable clutter as much as possible. For now, my workspace allows me to work, listen, and create with great comfort.
Thank you for your attention!
We sincerely thank Eugene for sharing his photos and story, and we wish him continued success in his creative endeavors. Feel free to send your workspace photos and setups to workspace@zamona.net, and we will gladly feature them.
