McGrady noted that the Queen's husband often surprised everyone with his wit. In this instance, he playfully pretended to be upset at her unauthorized 'invasion' of the royal dining area.

The royal chef frequently witnessed such moments, as Diana visited not only for company but also due to her struggles with eating disorders, which McGrady was aware of. He made it his mission to keep her diet balanced, modifying dishes she requested personally.
