Gabriela Dabrowski and Erin Routliffe win second US Open women’s doubles title
Dabrowski and Routliffe defeat top seeds Townsend and Siniakova in straight sets to claim their second US Open title, highlighting Dabrowski’s comeback after breast cancer treatment.

Champions: Gabriela Dabrowski (Canada) and Erin Routliffe (New Zealand)
On Arthur Ashe Stadium, the second seeds registered a 6-4 6-4 victory over top seeds Taylor Townsend and Katerina Siniakova to lift their second US Open women’s doubles trophy, having first won here in 2023.
Dabrowski, who underwent breast cancer surgery and treatment earlier in 2024, displayed resilience throughout the tournament alongside Routliffe. After losing the 2024 Wimbledon final to Townsend and Siniakova, the pair avenged that defeat at the year-end WTA Finals.
Speaking on court, Dabrowski, 33, said to her 30-year-old partner: “Erin, it’s been an incredible journey. I’m grateful to stand here as champion with you. Thank you for your support – we rock on.”
Townsend’s doubles defeat followed a singles campaign that saw her reach the US Open last 16 for the first time, although her second-round match with Jelena Ostapenko ended with a heated exchange of words for which Ostapenko later apologised.
The duo’s triumph is a testament to their partnership and Dabrowski’s remarkable comeback after her cancer diagnosis.
