Google introduces an innovative Personal Search filter that highlights your own content from Google Photos, Gmail, and other Google applications directly in your search results.
Here's how it works: if you search for clothing and have outfit photos saved in Google Photos, those images will appear prominently at the top of your search results, before general web content. By clicking on 'View all Google Photos results,' you can browse all related personal photos on the topic.
The same applies to your Gmail inbox: up to ten emails matching your search query will be displayed in a card above the usual results. One click opens the full message and takes you directly to Gmail.
Note that Personal Search may not always work flawlessly. Sometimes, Google may return an error when using this filter. If you're certain your personal content includes the searched keywords, double-check for spelling errors or try alternative phrases.
To activate this feature, look for the 'More' tab beneath the search bar in your browser and select 'Personal Search.' This tab appears alongside options like News, Images, and Videos.
All personal content found through this filter is visible only to you and remains private, never becoming publicly accessible.
This feature is available on desktop and mobile browsers but is not included in the Google app for Android, which already offers a 'In Apps' tab for searching device content.
