The House Oversight Committee released over 33,000 pages of documents on Jeffrey Epstein, including jail CCTV, flight logs, and witness interviews, but offered little new evidence, say lawmakers.

Jail Surveillance Footage
Among the released files are 13 hours and 41 seconds of video from the Metropolitan Correctional Center, covering the night of Epstein’s death on 10 August 2019. This edition adds roughly two more hours of footage compared to the version previously released by the Justice Department. However, the so-called "missing minute" between 23:00 and 00:00 was still absent, fueling ongoing questions about the official conclusion that Epstein died by suicide.
Flight Logs and Early Investigations
Newly disclosed US Customs and Border Protection records show Epstein’s travels to his private island in the US Virgin Islands. Other files date back to a 2006 Palm Beach Police investigation, including bodycam footage from the search of his Florida residence. The panel also published interview clips from alleged victims, with faces blurred and names removed to protect privacy.
Lawmakers’ Reactions
Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) and top Democrat Robert Garcia agreed the release added little fresh insight. Comer told NBC News, "As far as I can see, there’s nothing new in the documents." Garcia said 97% of the materials were already public and contained no client list or new justice measures for victims.
While the release offers unprecedented access to government records, most content was already public, leaving key questions unanswered.
