US Vice-President J.D. Vance Meets Robert Jenrick During Cotswolds Visit
J.D. Vance holds private talks with Conservative shadow justice secretary Robert Jenrick at his holiday retreat in the Cotswolds.
US Vice-President J.D. Vance met Conservative shadow justice secretary Robert Jenrick on Tuesday at the private residence where Vance is staying in the Cotswolds during his summer break from Washington, D.C.
The informal meeting follows Vance's discussions last week with Foreign Secretary David Lammy at Chevening House, Kent, on Gaza and other international issues. A planned meeting with Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch was not possible due to scheduling conflicts.
Jenrick, who lost the Tory leadership contest to Badenoch, shares similar views with Vance on immigration and free speech. It was their first face-to-face meeting.

Over the weekend, Vance toured Hampton Court Palace with his family. Local roads in Dean, Oxfordshire, were closed and a manor house placed under heavy security since his arrival. He was also seen visiting a farm shop near Chipping Norton, close to former Prime Minister David Cameron’s estate.
Vance’s trip precedes a state visit to the UK by President Donald Trump next month, following his private Scotland trip in July.
Vance’s Cotswolds meeting with Jenrick highlights growing US-UK conservative ties ahead of President Trump's state visit.
