Meizu has launched the 16Xs, a streamlined version of their flagship 16s model. It boasts a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution, framed by ultra-thin bezels at the top and bottom.
The display-to-body ratio reaches an impressive 90.29%, with a discreet 16MP front camera elegantly positioned on the upper bezel. The in-display fingerprint sensor unlocks the device swiftly in just 0.2 seconds.
The rear glass panel features a captivating gradient finish. Located in the top-left corner is a versatile triple-camera system with 48MP, 8MP, and 5MP sensors. The secondary lens offers a wide 118.8° field of view, while the third sensor measures depth for enhanced portrait effects.
Powered by Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 675 processor, the Meizu 16Xs comes with 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM and options for 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. It runs on Android 9.0 Pie, enhanced by the Flyme OS 7 interface.
Battery life is supported by a 4000mAh cell with 18W fast charging via USB Type-C. The same port connects to the new Meizu EP2C earphones, which feature a built-in digital-to-analog converter (DAC) for superior audio quality. Note that the smartphone does not include a traditional headphone jack.
The Meizu 16Xs will be available in three attractive colors, starting at approximately $250 USD. Sales begin on June 10. The EP2C earphones are priced around $19 USD but can be purchased for about $15 USD when bundled with the smartphone.
