Key insights include:

1. Flagship Android smartphones lose value twice as fast on the secondary market compared to top-tier iPhones (considering devices less than two years old). Within one year of release, iPhones depreciate by an average of 16.7%, whereas Android flagships drop by 33.62%. Over two years, the depreciation reaches 35.47% for iPhones and 61.5% for Android devices.
2. Budget Android phones priced under $350 lose approximately 52.61% of their original value within just one year on the resale market.
3. The iPhone SE (2020) is an exception that negatively impacted Apple's overall statistics, depreciating by 37–39% within eight months depending on the model variant.
4. Google Pixel phones also underperformed, with resale prices dropping 37.35% in one year, amounting to a 70.04% decrease compared to the original retail price.
5. Brands that experienced the steepest depreciation in 2020 include HTC (-53.08%), Motorola (-42.57%), and Sony (-39.51%).
